Vee's Tea Room: Real Salt Lake

Went to the Real Salt Lake season opening game versus the LA Galaxy. I had so much fun. I couldn't recall the RSL game was fun when they were playing at the Rice-Eccles Stadium at U but it was quite a while ago. This is the first time I visit the new Rio Tinto Stadium and it was unexpectedly small! Good thing is that every seat is close to the field and got a good view.

I was surprised that fans are very enthusiastic. People were singing, cheering & of course yelling. There were total 4 goals made by the RSL and I only got chance to watch 2 of them. Missed the first goal because the stuff was telling us we couldn't bring our beer at that section and the goal was made within 3 minutes after game starts! (yea, forgot I am in SL and drinking is a "big" thing). For the third goal, I think I was not the only one missed the this goal, I bet 90% of the audience did as well. The big screen was showing that Jimmer Fredette (in case you don't know, he is a BYU basketball star player) was in the game, while people were looking at the screening and making the "oh" sounds, the goal was score.

It was cold and raining (I was wearing shorts, what were I thinking?) but with the fireworks, big crowd with more than 20,000 people and, of course, a wining game with lots of goals; it was really fun! Now I couldn't wait to go to the New York Red Bulls game and see Thierry Henry in the Summer!
