Chunky Snood

Have been looking for a nice snood online and in the mall to match my black wool jacket I wear almost everyday. I brought a chunky knit scarf from Navy last year. It's been working great. Soft, comfy and keeping me warm but the hair from the scarf keep falling off and sticky to my wool coat. It makes me looks like a person has a hairy dog that didn't clean up her coat before stepping out!!!

So, enough is enough. I am making my own! My sister and her friend keep saying that their friend has a very cute snood and asking if I know how to make one. So, I went to Micheal's after my disappointing Black Friday shopping. Yarns are on sale and it is the right thickness and color I want. Got 2 balls of yearns and head home to experiment.

After several knits and dissembles plus discuss with my sister how her friend's snood should looks like, I kind of get the pattern and decided to go all the way. Finally finished it tonight and it looks good!!!! Love it. Now, I've just need to repeat 2 more times, one for my sister and one for her friend.

Here is how the snood was made...

I used 2 balls of Lion Brand® Wool-Ease® Thick & Quick in claret color with size 13/9 mm needles. Cast on 20 stitches and keep knitting. I slip on the first stitches as purl on every row so that it leaves a nice edge. Knit until the 2 balls of yarns are done. Remember to leave a long tail for sewing the two ends together. I twist the scarf once before sewing the ends, which make it easier to wear.
