Belated New Year Resolutions

It's the last day of February, I think I should set my new year resolutions. These might sound lame but I am gotta make it!

1) Be Active Not Passive!

Time to get healthy!
I didn't realize I was a workaholic until halfway through last year. I took my first vacation time off on August and kind of "force" to use up my vacation hours later on. Although I got the chance to go to UK and Spain for two weeks but it was such a hurry trip and I wish I could plan it much better. I love to go out but... I am also lazy. Lazy enough that I forgot to go out and have fun! That is not going to happen this year! One approach I already did is joining the climbing gym. The goal is to climb twice a week plus yoga. Beside this, I need to be more active on my daily life. Don't just do stuff at the last minute! The end point - I need to have a healthier lifestyle.

2) Keep My iBean Alive
My Friendship Bean

For all the plants I planted so far, none of them survive. Last summer, I decided to try again. I brought this cool iBean from my friend. Each of the ibean was printed some meaningful word which represented your dream, desire or wish. The idea is to watch your idea "grow". I chose the lucky bean and it was easy enough to plant. It was happy and healthy until the winter came. I tried to rescue it. Some new sprouts came up but dead again after several weeks. I planted a new ibean for "friendship" 2 weeks ago. This time, I am going to keep it alive for at least a year!

No more pasta for dinner
3) Improve my Chinese Food Cooking Skill

I love cooking but I think I cook other cuisines more than Chinese food. Without a good authentic restaurant here in Salt Lake, I am losing my memory on comfort homemade Chinese/Cantonese! So, first thing to do, I need to eat less pasta at home (this is going to be hard, I love pasta!). Second, get some homemade dishes idea from mom and friends! Third, practice, practice, practice!

Yummy Laduree Macarons
4) Successfully Make French Macaron

All my friends know I am working on French Macaron lately. I got the look but didn't get the texture yet! I know it's not gonna be a easy project but I will get it this year! Because... I just can't stop thinking about the macarons I had at Laduree. Average failure batches before successfully make macaron is 10 batches. I made 4 batches so far, shouldn't be too far away.

5) Get My Blog Post on My Favorite Food Website

I've already submitted my post several times but all got declined. Major improvment I need - better photography skill. If I success, I will get my blog posted, improved photography skill & got the chance to keep my blog updated. Sound not bad!

Happy blogging - Vee
