My Birthday Cake - Dacquoise

Just back from my birthday dinner. I was turning the "magical" number and it was great and wonderful!!! One of my best birthday dinner. I picked a restaurant called "Lamb's Grill Cafe",  which is one of the oldest restaurant in Salt Lake and it's a historical site. Food are good and cook in traditional way. Not too much new innovation but just solidly good. 

As requested by me, my younger sister made me a birthday cake. I didn't have one last year and was quite disappointed. But this year cake totally make it up. It's a recipe from her french dessert cook book. It's called "Dacquoise". She has to double the recipe as we have 10 people. None of us have this cake before and don't know what it should taste like but we all think it's really good regardless it is similar to the original or not. Thanks, sis!
